I have never been so ashamed to say that I have Indian blood in me. Ever.
A country where a 23 year old woman can get gang raped and then nearly beaten to death on a moving bus. Where female journalists/reporters that try to investigate can get sexually harassed. Where women that then try to protest and fight for justice can get kicked around by the police. 600 Reported rapes in NEW DELHI ALONE. WAKE UP INDIA.
INDIA NEEDS FEMINISM. INDIA NEEDS A REVOLUTION.

I keep thinking about this post I stumbled upon last week and every time I do I just want to laugh.
Like wow, how did you manage to fit so many offensive statements in one short paragraphs. And why are you acting like this is unique to India. This shit happens to America all the fucking time. And India has their own brand of feminism, they don’t need western feminism.
This article does a really good job of educationally explaining all that is wrong with this post.

There is so much wrong in this post I don’t even know where to begin.
For one it’s like hella offensive.
The Lotus Temple - the Bahá’í House of Worship in Delhi, India. One of the most exquisite pieces of architecture that exists on this planet.
You know, not too long ago, I was reading up a lot on the Bahá’í Faith… and, to be honest, I was very tempted to convert to this faith.
I love how it’s a unity of all the world’s major religions… as it states on Wikipedia:
In the Bahá’í Faith, religious history is seen to have unfolded through a series of divine messengers, each of whom established a religion that was suited to the needs of the time and the capacity of the people. These messengers have included Abraham, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad and others, and most recently the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh. In Bahá’í belief, each consecutive messenger prophesied of messengers to follow, and Bahá’u’lláh’s life and teachings fulfilled the end-time promises of previous scriptures. Humanity is understood to be in a process of collective evolution, and the need of the present time is for the gradual establishment of peace, justice and unity on a global scale.
However, as much as I love this unity and it appears to be non-discriminant, my belief of Jesus being the Son of God and Mary the Queen of Heaven too strong to regard Jesus as just a prophet.
Yet, that’s the beauty of the Lotus Temple… it’s open to ALL religions. No matter what your faith is, it is a place to worship God “without denominational restrictions”.
I love this idea. Now, while no sermons can be delivered or instruments played for songs of praise, it’s still a marvellous thing. I just wish more of places of worship existed and/or were heard of.
Well… maybe they are… but I only came into knowing of the Bahá’í Faith, and the existence of the Lotus Temple, this year.
This temple is absolutely breathtaking in person.
I had the exact same thoughts as the OP about converting to the Bahá’í Faith.

I got cinnamon tea from Adagio and I made it with sugar and vanillasoy milk and it taste so much like the Chai I had in India.
It’s so good but it makes me want to go back to India so much. I hope I have the chance at some point in my life to go back.
